Description
Every time I am in Ottawa on business I make it a point to visit the National Gallery of Canada, mostly to view the works of Tom Thomson and the group of Seven. It was there that I also discovered great Quebec artists such as Jean-Paul Lemieux, Clarence Gagnon and Maurice Cullen. All painted in the style I have come to try and emulate. One style that has never really appealed to me was abstract - until I came across the works of Jean-Paul Ripollie. That I get and love. Just finished an article on him and took a little from his style in my approach to this series.
